Benjamin Fruchtl is an educator and musician at Gettysburg College, where he is currently studying music education. Ben's primary instrument is the clarinet, but he enjoys learning in a variety of settings. Ben has specialized in peace and justice studies at the college, and has pursued this as a minor. Ben hopes to use his education to become a public school teacher and a church musician.
Ben is currently student teaching in a remote setting, an office worker for Dr. Brent Talbot, and editing videos and providing music for church through an online format. Ben is also creating online content through video work for the school, and helping to manage a new website to provide resources for music educators teaching remotely.
Ben loves to broaden his musical knowledge through pursuing opportunities outside of his musical comfort zone. Ben enjoys playing in the Gamelan Gita Semara Ensemble at Gettysburg College, researching Steel Pan ensemble, and finding opportunities to perform piano whenever possible. Ben enjoys composing, hiking, birdwatching, and pipe cleaner art in his free time. Most of all, Ben enjoys teaching and making a difference in others’ lives through music, and looks forward to being able to do that for the rest of his life!
